What we’re doing and why

We believe it should be safe and easy for everyone to prove who they are when they’re dealing with the government.

For that reason we’re looking at how to help people do this online. It means giving people a secure way to confirm their identity without having to visit an office or other physical location.

We’re working on a digital identity solution with government agencies, the private sector and the public. And because we’re working with different stakeholders, we’re using a common standard to make sure people will have a consistent, reliable experience.
